In August 2003, the cream of world badminton took to the courts for finals day at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham, UK in pursuit of one of the most sought-after prizes in the international calendar - the World Championship title. The 2003 QI IBF World Championships (28 July-3 August) welcomed nearly 320 players from 44 countries, including titleholders past and present. Highlights include:

The Final of the Sudirman Cup 2003 was staged in March (18-23) in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Encompassing all five disciplines, the Sudirman Cup provides perhaps the best test of a country`s all-round badminton performance. The 2003 Final saw reigning champions China take on Korea who last won the Cup in 1993. Highlights include:
